Dear Participants of MTB Challenge 2008!
You have struggled with all of that difficulties: heat, uphills and your rivals during eight days of MTB Challenge. Those eight days were a hard challenge, which one we have won all together. We would like to thank You for a great atmosphere, that You have created travelling around Kotlina Klodzka. 500Km of lenght, 14000m of ascent, eight stages and a red "Finisher" t-shirt as a reward. For many of You managing to win it was an adventure of your's life. For many of You every single mile of the route has its own story. Preparing events like MTB Challenge we think directly about feelings that left in your mind after the race. Your satisfaction, Your adventures, Your rivalry and Your emotions made our competition special and unique.
MTB Challenge is a special event. During one week it unites riders from whole Europe on the tracks of the region, that has very compliated history. Riding without any borders on the land, that joins long lasting, multicultural tradition is an unique experience. Polish - Chech organising crew on the land with polish-chech-german history was able to find cooperation with races form Austria, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, England, Scotland, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Slovakia, the United States and, of course Poland and Chech Republic. For all that time top euoropean pro riders as well as amateurs created unforgettable atmosphere, that will last in our mind for all next year.
Ridding every stage You have manage to reach many places that are inaccssible for classic races, where even well experiencted tourists are not able to get. That places are special for cyclists and bikers. Ridding on that unique singletracks, bautiful mountain tracks placed nearby natural reserves and national parks is possible only once a year. We would like to thank You, that you have left those places as You have find them. Nowadays it is possible to get back there next year and even make the route more intersesting and more emotional.
Once again we would like to thank You for taking part in MTB Challenge 2008. This is the event made special for You. You are the special group of marathon man - the hardest one, most detemined and now... having the greatest memories.

 We started four years ago by organizing an interesting but also a chamber event.Since then MTB Challenge has been transformed into one of the most prestigious bike events in Central Europe. It is organized in the Polish and Czech cooperation and it gathers the mtb freeks from all over the world at the start line. During 2007 edition the bikers from over 20 countires competed at the route around The Kłodzka Valley!
MTB Challenge is a typical mtb stage race which rules and regulations are based on those ones that are tested and known from such bike events as Trans Alp, Cape Epic or Trans Rookies. The location of the start and finish points very closely differs our stage race from many others. The route makes the circle and leads the riders through the touristicly attractive tracks near the Kłodzka Valley. Each stage of the race is more interesting, longer, more difficult and attracts more and more excellent riders.The Polish, the Czech and the Austrian leaders in mtb riding compete to win.They are accompanied by other amateur bikes from all Europe who cover the race distances. Each stage is different as far as the difficulty and the distance are concerned, however, you can find both typical training sections and breath taking technical single tracks.
 The Sudety Mountains that lie at the Polish and the Czech border are not so high as the Alps or the Rocky Mountains. They offer unique routes that are situated in the places which are overfulled with the richness of the spectacular rocky forms and historical herigate of Central Europe. The Rocky City of Andsprach and Teplice, Szczeliniec, or Śnieżnik that is the water-shed of the catchment area of the Baltic and the Black sea are the unique places in the European landscape. The Bottom Drifts of the Underground city of Osówka, the monumental Bardo or the Srebrogóra Rock are the "witnesses" of the existence of the secular presence of three cultures : the Polish, the Czech and the German ones.It has not always been a peaceful coexistence, however, now after getting into Schengen zone the sportsmen from all Europe can accomplish their passionate aims unobstructedly in this historical region.
 MTB Challenge 2008 consists of seven stages and a prologue. The whole event will start in the Czech Nachod city where the riders'time will be measured and it will finish in the Polish Duszniki Zdrój which is not very far from the border. The other seven stages will lead the riders around the Kłodzka Valley through the mountain ranges that suround it. The route of the race is based on the passed years experience, which includes the best elements of the former editions of the race and the new tracks that had been recommended by the well-oriented local contestants.MTB Challenge is the stage race which is one of its kind. You can find here the sports contest, the challenge for both the best riders as well as for the amateur ones.It is also a wonderful holiday adventure and the unforgettable occasion to get to know the traditions of one of the most interesting European regions.

MTB Challenge is the MTB stage race organized in accordance with the rules applied in the biggest events of this kind in the world. The riders compete in 2 people teams, divided into categories according to their age and sex (Man, Woman, Mix and Masters and Masters 100 - team of two riders whose cumulative ages exceed 100 years). The idea of the event is, apart from the competition, to present the region as well as to integrate the participants. Between the stages riders will enjoy their meal in the other riders' company and in the places prepared by organizer. The luggage will be transported from the start to the finishing line of every stage. The event is open for the professionals and amateurs who mostly decide on the race's particular character and bring in the friendly atmosphere.
MTB Challenge is organized in Polish - Czech cooperation of Grzegorz Golonko (the Organizer of MTB Marathon - www.MTBMarathon.com) and Vena Hornycha (one of the best Czech marathon bikers). In the BikeChallenge 2006 edition took part over 450 riders from 20 countries.
