Blue sky and beautiful sunshine welcomed riders on the start line of Stage 2. Everyone was happy that the risk of rain was minimalized, but at the same time a bit worried about racing in high temperatures. This meant a real test for riders' stamina and endurance.
Dariusz Poroś, the Solo classification leader, decided to use these pretty harsh conditions and tried to break away from his rivals on the climb to Czernica. Pole was marked, as usual, by Robby de Boeck and Steffen Langer. The latter had some serious technical problems and probably lost his chances for a win in the GC. Poroś eventually won the stage by 2 minutes, even though his advantage over KMC Team rider on Borówkowa summit was less than 30 seconds. The podium was completed by another Belgian - Peter Verstraete, who was also the fastest in masters category. In women competition Aneta Imielska remains matchless and yet again beats her compatriot Marta Gogolewska and Martine Chartier form France.
Another win for TNN Meets WMTB who extend their lead in teams classification. Second spot for Colex Racing Team, third for Danes of Proghorn Racing.
On Half distance, which ends the competition today, Adam Ważny and Magda Szymańska complete 3/3 wins and seal the victory in GC.
Tomorrow a very hard stage from Bardo to Głuszyca with classic bits like a well known Srabrna Góra fortress or Wielka Sowa climb and, obviously, a descent from this mountain top.
