First stage of Sudety MTB Challenge 2017 is behind us. For sure today track didn't lay it's all card on a table and everything best is still ahead. Today stage was very long, but beside few technical sections it was mainly the physically demanding day. Neither long, technically easy nor fast wide descent are not a standard of this race.
The standard for sure will be achived in upcoming days. Very low temperature didn't help in any case, nor did falling all day long rain. After some showers in previous days, there were lot of mud' puddle covering trails at hundreds of metres what made simingly easy route very demanding both physically and technically.
Asphalt roads, fields and typical for Sudety, wide gravel fire roads finally got to rad singletrail and eventualy boarder trail. Plenty of wet roots and curvy narrow trail gave lot o satisfaction for those riders with proper MTB skills. Beside a lot of mud, the border trail let everybody feel an awesome flow, even those on hartail bikes. In the middle part of stage are again wide ducts, hard pavements hardly demanding skills but giving perspective arround for outstanding landscapes and views.
Last part of today stage in area of Czarna Góra in Sienna forced riders' legs once again to push harder. After steep climbs you could take pleasurre from technically diversified descent with very fast last kilometres. Unfortunatelly the best part of climb to Czarna Góra and following descend were passed over to avoid unnecessary risk. Erik Aagaard, in front of Dariusz Poroś and Dutch Rudi Van Huts went as best through today's stage and among team category riders did Andrey Dianov with Igor Gordienko.
